Safety Meets Technology With GM

When it comes to shopping for your next vehicle, you know you have lots of choices. As you shop for different brands, you compare prices, features, models and trim levels, and you decide on your must-haves. You may decide that you can compromise on some vehicle features, but one thing is non-negotiable: safety is standard. And no one cares more about your safety than GM. Each General Motors brand and model are designed to ensure that you and your vehicle are in good hands, not only on the road but wherever you park.

So, what are some of the ways that GM is doing this for you? As automotive design and manufacturing have become more and more centred around technology, GM has focused on connecting you to your vehicle.

Teen Driver

You can ensure that even the newest drivers in your family are in great hands with GM’s Teen Driver safety feature. Teen Driver allows you to monitor and limit certain vehicle functions, so you’ll always have peace of mind that the driver is totally focused on the road. This safety option is designed to promote long-lasting safe driving habits, especially for new drivers.

How Does Teen Driver Work?

Teen Driver can be controlled, activated and deactivated through your smartphone using the GM app (My Chevrolet, My GM, My Buick, My Cadillac). You will be notified when Teen Driver has been activated through smartphone alerts, so you’ll always know that your driver has safely entered the vehicle. This safety function limits stereo volume controls until both front passengers fasten their seatbelts, and you also have the option of setting a volume limit while the vehicle is on the road.

While Teen Driver is activated, all vehicle-equipped safety features will be on, and you can further customize driving components like vehicle speed warnings and vehicle speed limits. At the end of each trip, you will receive a Report Card – that accumulates with each trip – through your GM app.

Which GM Vehicles Offer Teen Driver?

Teen Driver is available in most GM vehicles

Chevrolet: Cruze, Malibu, Bolt, Volt, Equinox, Blazer, Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado, Silverado, Camaro.

Buick: Envision, Regal, Lacrosse.

GMC: Terrain, Acadia, Yukon and Yukon XL, Canyon, Sierra.

Cadillac: CTS, XTS, CT6.

Teen Driver is standard in all trim levels of these 2020 models. To build and price your vehicle with standard Teen Driver availability, call, click or visit your Applewood Chevrolet Cadillac Buick GMC dealership. Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning

Another important component to enhance a safe driving experience is GM’s Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning. This safety component is available in most 2020 GM brands, models and trim levels. You’ll have peace of mind knowing that GM has your blind spots covered and will prevent you from unintentionally veering into other lanes without signalling.

Lane Keep Assist gently steers your vehicle within your lane when travelling 60 km/hour or faster using forward sensors that detect lane lines. If vehicle veering persists, your vehicle will flash an amber alert and will beep to notify you of an unintentional lane change.

This function is optional and can be turned on or off at any time, but it’s important to know that this safety function is not intended to be used as a cruise control, and it will not steer your vehicle for a continuous length of time.

How Much Can You Save Annually with a 2027 Chevrolet Bolt?

If you drive roughly 20,000 km per year and still pay at the pump, the math on switching to electric is worth running. The 2027 Chevrolet Bolt offers 422 km of estimated range, a native NACS charging port, and a setup built for overnight home charging. The most useful comparison is against a compact ICE vehicle in the same segment. The 2026 Chevrolet Trax uses a 1.2L turbocharged 3-cylinder...

Both models share a 2.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine producing 328 hp and 326...
