This powertrain is designed to handle extreme off-road conditions, and combined with the truck’s prototype Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve, semi-active dampers, it ensures over 13 inches of front and rear wheel travel. The setup allows the truck to maintain stability and traction over uneven terrain, giving it a distinct advantage in the roughest racing conditions.
Further enhancing its off-road capability are 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud-Terrain tires, which provide exceptional grip and durability. The concept also features a lifted suspension with specific off-road tuning, front and rear locking differentials, and extensive underbody skid protection. These components make the Silverado EV ZR2 race truck a true off-road monster, ready to tackle the challenges of the Mint 400 and push Chevrolet’s EV technology to its limits.
While the Silverado EV ZR2 concept is primarily a test platform for off-road racing, Chevrolet engineers will embed themselves with the Chad Hall Racing team to study the truck’s performance in extreme conditions.
