New 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2025 Chevrolet Suburban Unveiled

Chevrolet introduced the latest generation of its full-size SUVs with the unveiling of the 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and 2025 Chevrolet Suburban earlier this month. Revolutionizing their iconic lineup with fresh designs, enhanced powertrains, and advanced technology, the redesigned Tahoe and Suburban continue to offer exceptional versatility to large families in and around Mississauga. Launching in late 2024, these full-size SUVs combine refined aesthetics with cutting-edge features, setting new standards in their segment for family road trips, towing capabilities, and overall versatility.

Engine Improvements Including New Diesel

The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban boast significant engine advancements, headlined by a new, second-generation 3.0L turbo-diesel Duramax engine. This engine, previously introduced on the Silverado, now delivers an estimated 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, marking a 10 percent increase in horsepower and a 7.6 % increase in torque compared to the current models. This improvement in power translates to greater confidence on the road, particularly in towing situations.

The enhancements to the diesel engine include a retuned turbo compressor, higher-flow fuel injectors, and revised piston-cooling oil jets. These modifications, along with improved temperature control features in the cooling system, contribute to the engine's boosted performance. The addition of new sound absorption materials and a tuned air induction system further refine the driving experience, balancing robust power with a quieter ride.

Complementing the diesel option, the Tahoe and Suburban continue to offer a 5.3L gas V-8 as the standard engine across most trims, with a 6.2L V-8 available on the High Country and select other trims. This range of powertrain options ensures that both vehicles can cater to diverse driving preferences and requirements.

A More Refined Experience on the Road

The 2025 models of Tahoe and Suburban feature updated ride-and-handling dynamics. The multilink independent rear suspension, introduced in the current models, has been refined to enhance driving comfort and responsiveness. This suspension update, along with additional steering calibration improvements, provides a more confident driving experience across various conditions.

The inclusion of Air Ride Adaptive Suspension and Magnetic Ride Control™, available on select trims, elevates the vehicles' road manners. Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, now available on the High Country and Z71 as well as the RST for the first time, offers automatic load-levelling and ride-height adjustment. In highway driving, it can lower the vehicle to reduce aerodynamic drag, improving efficiency.

Magnetic Ride Control, standard on Premier and High Country and available on RST and Z71, is one of the industry's fastest-reacting damping systems. Its ability to continually adjust the damping rate of the shocks almost instantly helps to minimize pitch, body roll, and vibrations, significantly enhancing the driving experience in these large SUVs.

Enhanced Towing Technology

Towing capabilities are a crucial aspect of the Tahoe and Suburban experience. Chevrolet has introduced new and enhanced features to bolster confidence in towing. These include Trailer Tire Health, which monitors trailer tire condition to prevent blowouts, and Forward Path Indication, offering guidance for navigating with a trailer by indicating the width and path of the trailer on the Surround View system.

The introduction of Boat Ramp Assist within the Trailering App is a significant addition, providing a checklist and step-by-step instructions for towing, launching, and retrieving boats. Furthermore, the Mobile Trailering App Load Rating Info, accessible via the myChevrolet mobile app, offers valuable information about the vehicle's load rating, enhancing the towing experience for both novice and experienced drivers.

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe takes full advantage of its enhanced powertrains and its advanced technology when it comes to towing, delivering up to 8,400 pounds of capability. The new 2025 Suburban doesn’t shy away from heavy loads either, offering 8,200 pounds of towing capacity.

A Distinct Exterior

The 2025 Tahoe and Suburban showcase a freshened exterior design characterized by bolder signature lighting, new lighting animations, and available 24-inch wheels. The new front fascia for all six trims—LS, LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country—adds unique design elements, with the Z71 incorporating skid plates and a high-approach front fascia, and the High Country featuring a blend of black and Galvano chrome trim.

The new lighting design gives the vehicles a more integrated and prominent appearance, enhancing their personality on the road. The introduction of two new exterior colors, Cypress Grey and Lakeshore Blue Metallic, further adds to their aesthetic appeal, ensuring they stand out with a more confident and planted stance.

Connected and Spacious Interior

Inside, the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban are reimagined with a focus on connectivity and space. The centrepiece of the cabin is the all-new 17.7-inch-diagonal freeform infotainment screen, paired with an 11-inch diagonal driver information centre. This large screen, canted toward the driver for control and accessibility, represents a leap forward in in-vehicle technology, blending digital and physical controls for intuitive use.

The interior redesign extends beyond the dashboard. The centre console has been reconfigured with new storage options and a more conveniently placed wireless charging pad. The steering wheel design is new, and the interior trims include unique elements like Victory Red stitching on the RST and an all-new Jet Black/Sky Cool Grey interior on the Premier.

In the High Country trim, the interior refinement reaches new heights with authentic wood décor, wingtip perforated leather seating surfaces, and a unique Jet Black/Mocha color combination. These elements underscore the SUVs' commitment to luxury and comfort, enhancing the overall in-cabin experience.

Standout Safety

Safety in the 2025 Tahoe and Suburban is enhanced with a suite of advanced features and technologies. The integrated network of cameras allows for remote viewing of the interior and exterior, providing an added layer of security. This system, accessible through select OnStar plans, includes capabilities like Automatic Crash Recording and Security Recording.

Standard safety features include the Chevrolet Safety Assist suite, comprising Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, and Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking. The inclusion of Enhanced Automatic Parking Assist and HD Surround Vision further bolsters the vehicles' safety profile, ensuring peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike.

The 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban represent a significant leap forward in the full-size SUV category. With their advanced engine options, refined driving dynamics, enhanced towing capabilities, distinct exterior design, connected and luxurious interiors, and comprehensive safety features, these vehicles are poised to continue their legacy as versatile and dependable choices for families and adventurers. As they prepare to hit the market in late 2024, the Tahoe and Suburban are set to redefine expectations for what a full-size SUV can offer.
